The Around Keowee Alone regatta is an annual event is in recognition of the hardy and brave sailors that have sailed around the world alone.  Boats that are sailed alone (solo) are categorized as “Corinthian”, and the name of winner in this category will be placed on an engraved plate on the KSC  Around Alone plaque.  Boats that are sailed with crew will be categorized as “non-Corinthian”.  Activities typically include 2 days of racing (weather permitting), Saturday evening dinner and Sunday after-race snacks.

 

Keowee Cup Regatta

The Keowee Cup Regatta is an open invite two day regatta to most boat types that wish to participate.  Typical expected classes are multihull, flying scott, PHRFA, PHRFB, and we host cruising distance races as well.  The Keowee Cup Regatta usually takes place in early May when spring is on full force and the fresh breeze funnels down the lake from the nearby mountains.  Come join us for two days of racing and kick off your sailing season with the Keowee Sailing Club.

 

 

Grits 'n Haggis Regatta

 
 

The Grits ’n Haggis Regatta is a regional Flying Scot regatta and is part of the Dixie Lakes District races held on beautiful Lake Keowee, Seneca, SC.  The regatta usually takes place on the 3rd weekend in May.  This two day event is popular among southeastern sailors usually attracting upwards of 25 boats. Gracious food (including one morning with a traditional English-style Grits ’n Haggis breakfast) and entertainment are provided throughout the weekend.

 

 

Bare What You Dare Regatta

The Bare What you Dare Regatta is a Multihull regatta open to all “beach catamarans” and other similarly sized multihulls.  The regatta usually takes place in late April where the weather conditions start to turn pleasant for sailing.  Besides the on the water activities, the club typically provides a couple of meals and hors d’oeuvres throughout the weekend. This regatta is a terrific way to start off the sailing season!  If you have a beach catamaran (typically 22 feet in length or shorter), come join us for the low pressure, always fun, Bare What you Dare Regatta.  Racing is usually broken up into two handicap fleets but we are happy to accommodate one design starts for multihull classes that meet the very minimal requirements.
