2008 Keowee Cup Regatta

NOTICE OF RACE (pdf)

The Keowee Sailing Club invites you to the KEOWEE CUP Regatta, May 3rd and 4th. 2008.

This regatta is a two-day event open to all sailboats under 35 feet in length with a PHRF or Portsmouth rating.
The regatta is governed by the RACING RULES OF SAILING (RRS). The low-point scoring system (RRS Appendix A) will apply, except there will be no throw-outs. A minimum of five races are scheduled. One race will constitute a regatta. Handicaps for the PHRF and Portsmouth fleets will be assigned at registration.

Youth Sailing Camp !!

Youth may now submit their applications for Youth Sailing Camp, which will be at KSC June 16-18, 2008.  Get your application i n early, because this good deal will be limited to just the first 20 students to apply.

Students will receive instruction in water safety, sailing terminology, and basic sailing skills.  Each student will learn to rig and sail a small boat by doing it under the guidance of the instructors.  The goal for the camp is, at the end of the three days, most students should be able to safely rig and sail a small boat in protected waters.  We will also be just having fun doing summer camp kinds of activities.

 

You need to Know: 

·        You must be age 10 to 16 to participate.

·        You must know how to swim.

·        You need to have an interest in sailing.  Prior sailing experience is good but not required.

·        The total cost (including food) will be $90, of which $30 must be included with your application.

·        You will spend two nights at KSC.
